SUGAR PROCESSING FACILITIES

A DPA LoC US$33.64 million project for construction of a Sugar processing plant. Construction began in March 2013 and was completed in October 2015. Officially commissioned on 15 August, 2016 by H.E. Prof. Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of Malawi.Located at Salima, 100 kms from Lilongwe in a Sugarcane producing district. The Salima Sugar plant has a capacity to consume 1250 metric tons of sugarcane per day in an 8 hour shift.
