India gifted 100,00 Secondary School Text Books to Malawi. The gift was handed over to the Minister of Education by the High Commissioner on 7 February 2020 at a Presentation Ceremony in Lilongwe

At a presentation ceremony in Lilongwe on 7th February 2020, High Commissioner of India, Sh. Anurag Bhushan presented 100,000 secondary school level text books for Malawi students.


During the visit of Sh. M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India to Malawi in November 2018, it was announced to gift books to Government of Malawi for benefit of students. The books presented are in different topics like English, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Business Studies, Accountancy among other subjects.


The books were handed over to the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Hon’ble Dr. William Susuwele Banda MP on 7th February 2020 at a presentation ceremony at Mkwichi Secondary School, Lilongwe. As a token both High Commissioner and the Hon’ble Minister presented books to some students of the Mkwichi Secondary School, Lilongwe. The books will be distributed to secondary schools in Malawi through Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Government of Malawi.


The gifting of books is in support of Government of Malawi’s efforts in encouraging students to receive good education in varied subjects through good books. The Government of India’s initiative to provide useful books to students will help the young Malawi students in becoming responsible and educated citizens of Malawi. This gift from Government of India will further strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Malawi.
