Celebration of Hindi Day 2021

Hindi Diwas 2021


High Commission of India celebrated Hindi Diwas 2021 on 18 September 2021 at the Chancery premises. The event was organized to promote Hindi and to create interest in Hindi language. Members of Indian diaspora, Indians living in Malawi and families of the High Commission officials took part in the event. On the occasion, competitions such as Hindi Poetry Recitation, Hindi Essay writing, etc. for both children and adults, were organized.



In his remarks, High Commissioner S. Gopalakrishnan highlighted the history of Hindi language and need for promoting Hindi around the world, including in Malawi. Video messages by Dr. S. Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister and Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi, Minister of State for External Affairs on Hindi Day were shown at the event. Earlier, on 14 September 2021, Embassy officials took Hindi Day pledge to promote Hindi language.
