Celebration of States Day and Diwali

The High Commission of India, Lilongwe celebrated States’ Day and Diwali on Saturday, 6 November 2021 at India House. The event was attended by the Speaker of National Assembly, Malawi, Minister of Lands and other dignitaries from Government of Malawi, high ranking officials, senior officials of the diplomatic corps and international organizations, members of diaspora, representatives of Indian associations, friends of India, Media among others.


High Commissioner Gopalakrishnan stated that Malawi has a large Indian community having link with various States in India and the celebration of Indian States Day in Malawi is an initiative to showcase the diversity and uniqueness of Indian states.


The cultural performances showcasing cultures of various Indian States were organized.
