Today, the visiting CII delegation participated in India-Malawi Roundtable B2B Meet which was organized by the High Commission of India in association with the Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce & Industry (MCCCI) at Comesa Hall, Blantyre.
Hon'ble Minister of Trade, Industrialization, Business, and Tourism Mr. Simon Itaye graced the event as “Guest of Honour”. Hon'ble Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mr Edger Tembo, and Principal Secretary in Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism Mr Wiskes Mkombezi also attended the event. Hon'ble Minister Mr Simone Itaye encouraged the Indian delegation to invest in Malawi and assured them of extending all possible help and facilitation. He also underlined the Government of Malawi's focused areas Agriculture, Tourism, Mining and Manufacturing.
HE Mr. Amararam Gujar, High Commissioner of India highlighted the objective of the event to bring business community of India and Malawi together to promote trade and economic partnership by forging Joint Ventures (JVs) and business collaboration for a win-win partnership.
The plenary session featured Keynote address by Honorable Minister, remarks by Dr. Wisely Phiri, President of MCCCI, Leader of CII Delegation Mr. Vikas Agarwal, followed by interactive B2B session.
The event concluded with the signing of framework cooperation document by CII and MCCCI Representatives and a factory visit to Bakhresa for further strengthening India–Malawi trade and investment ties.
