Conversion of PIO cards to OCI cards by the 30 June, 2017

As the last date for conversion of PIO Cards into OCI cards i.e. June 30, 2017, is approaching near; all PIO card holders in Malawi are requested to convert these cards into OCI cards by above deadline.

The OCI card is a smart card which will facilitate quicker immigration clearance at the Immigrations Check Posts and also for obtaining various consular services from the Indian Missions. For those residing in India, it will facilitate in availing various services in India.

The Conversion of PIO cards into OCI cards would not require any extra scrutiny or additional documentation except for the requirements of copies of the valid foreign passport and the existing PIO card in original. OCI card will be issued free of charge (Gratis) for applications submitted until June 30, 2017.
